Introduction to Computer Science and Programming
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Prerequisite: DREA 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading.
Course Description: This introductory course is designed to meet the requirements for a four-year degree with a major or minor in computer science, mathematics, or a scientific field. This course focuses on problem-solving using modular design techniques implemented with a structured programming language. This course may use instructional examples and assignments from various programming languages, including but not limited to C, Objective-C, C++, C#, and/or Java. COSC 1415 will satisfy the Associate in Sciences degree general elective requirement. This course will fulfill degree requirements established by the colleges of DCCCD only if this course has been successfully completed and the date of completion does not exceed 10 years. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)
