Course Description: Instruction in principles, procedures, and regulations involving legal and ethical relationships among physicians, patients, and medical assistants in ambulatory care settings. Includes current ethical issues and risk management as they relate to the practice of medicine and fiduciary responsibilities. Special emphasis is place on culture, diversity, trends and career explorations. (2 Lec.)

Course Description: Emphasis on patient assessment, examination, and treatment as directed by physician. Includes vital signs, collection and documentation of patient information, asepsis, office clinical procedures, and other treatments as appropriate for the medical office. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)

Course Description: Emphasizes accurate ICD-9 and CPT coding of office procedures for payment/ reimbursement by patient or third party and prevention of insurance fraud. Additional topics may include managed care or medical economics. (4 Lec.)
