Introduction to Political Science This is a Texas Common Course Number.This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD. Prerequisite: One of the following must be met: (1) DREA or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading Standard AND (2) DWRI in 0093, English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0054 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Writing Standard. Course Description: Introductory survey of the discipline of political science focusing on the scope, and methods of the field, and the substantive topics in the discipline including the theoretical foundations of politics, political interaction, political institutions and how political systems function.
