Program: Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology
Title: Technician Level 1 Certificate in Air Conditioning

  • Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
  • Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College.

This program introduces students to the refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, and heat pump principles necessary to begin an air conditioning or refrigeration career as a HVACR technician's helper. Commonly used tools and instruments are introduced, and safety is emphasized. The preferred program alternative is for the students to experience a cooperative work experience at the program's culmination.
