College Readiness:
Enrolling in one or more of the following courses may be necessary if assessment activities and previous academic experiences indicate a need:
- TSI development minimum for college readiness (Reading, Writing, Math)
- ESOL
- Learning Frameworks: Effective Fall 2019 semester, students with less than 12 successfully completed college-level hours will be required to take and complete EDUC 1300, a first-year general elective course that will contribute to student success by addressing factors that impact learning in college, including: research and theory in learning; strategies to monitor, regulate and control cognition, motivation and behavior; and the ability to think ethically and critically.

In order to be eligible to receive this A.A. degree, you must:
- Complete the required 60 credit hours listed in this degree;
- Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301 and the selected college-level mathematics course;
- Receive a GPA of at least 2.00 based on all college-level course work, that includes credits transferable to Dallas College;
- Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements and course prerequisites and
- Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College.
Core Curriculum: Core Curriculum is a solid foundation of the 42-hour Core Curriculum. Its nine (9) Foundational Component Areas (FCA) are embedded in this degree and are identified by Coordinating Board (CB) codes. Completing the Core will enable you to meet the challenges of your college career head on. As you work to complete the 60 hours required for the A.A. degree, you will also meet the Dallas College 42-hour Core Curriculum.
Distance Learning/Online: This A.A. degree may be taken through a combination of on-campus and Distance Learning/Online courses; or if planned correctly, the degree may be completed entirely through Distance Learning/Online.
Transfer: Receiving institutions are not required to accept a grade below "C" in transfer. If you plan to transfer, work closely with an advisor/counselor.

In this degree, courses cannot be used to satisfy both the Core Curriculum and general-elective requirements.
Computer Literacy: If a student successfully completes *BCIS 1305, *BCIS 1405, *COSC 1301, ITSC 1401, POFI 1301, or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better, the course will satisfy 3-4 credit hours of general-elective requirements.
*Student must have taken courses within the last 10 years.

1 EDUC 1300 - A student must successfully complete EDUC 1300 within the first 12 (twelve) college-credit hours of general-elective requirements.
2 Mathematics Requirement (A grade of "C" or better is required.) MATH 1314, 1316, 1324, 1325, 1332, 1342, 1350, 1414, 1442, 2412, 2413, 2414 If a student takes the four (4) credit hour mathematics course; three (3) of those hours will apply towards the mathematics requirement. The remaining one (1) credit hour from that mathematics course will be applied to the general elective requirement and does not count towards the 42-hour Core.
