Course Title: Beginning American Sign Language I

Emphasized topics include translation between ASL and English and the role and responsibilities of interpreters. In addition, significant attention is devoted to the local deaf community, its organizations, support services and social events. Guest lectures and class outings provide students a forum in which to interact with members of this community. (3 Lec.)
