Rising Star Program

Are you a graduating high school student in need of money and personal support to go to college? We can help. Created by the Dallas College Foundation, the Rising Star Program provides qualified high school graduates with academic support services, career development and up to $5,500 to be used over a three year period. Through Rising Star, you have the opportunity to earn an associate's degree or job certification in more than 100 career and academic programs offered at the seven Dallas College locations.
To be eligible, you must:
- Graduate from a Dallas County public high school, Dallas CAN! Academy, a charter high school at a Dallas College campus or an approved charter high school in Dallas County.
- Have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 unweighted grading scale reported by the school district or high school for seventh-semester grades.
- Exhibit financial need as indicated by the family income eligibility guidelines for Rising Star assistance.
