EMSP 2160 (1 Credit Hours)
Offered at ECC Clinical - Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic) This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: (Required) (Recommended) (1) Completion of Department of State Health Services approved Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course, or certification by Department of State Health Services as Emergency Medical Technician, (2) current CPR certification as health care provider, (3) demonstrated competency in reading and math, and (4) Anatomy and Physiology course for Paramedics or equivalency. (1) Completion of Department of State Health Services approved Basic Emergency Medical Technician Course or certification by Department of State Health Services as Emergency Medical Technician, (2) Current BCLS (CPR) certification by the American Heart Association or equivalent. Corequisite/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search and a drug screen as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from all EMSP courses. Course Description: A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts.
