EMSP 2305 (3 Credit Hours)
Offered at BHC, ECC EMS Operations This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite Recommended: (1) Current BCLS (CPR) certification at the Health Care Provider level by the American Heart Association or equivalent; (2) Successful completion of EMSP 1338 or EMSP 1438 and EMSP 1356. EMSP 1356 and EMSP 1438 are required for students pursuing the Paramedicine Program at Brookhaven College; (3) Current certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or higher. Corequisite/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search and a drug screen as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from all EMSP courses. Course Description: Knowledge and skills to safely manage multi-casualty incidents and rescue situations; utilize air medical resources; identify hazardous materials and other specialized incidents.
