This sequence is for students interested in learning about solutions to safeguard information systems and networks from various forms of cyber threats. It includes courses covering security theory and preventative measures, as well as attack detection and defense. Industry standard methods are reinforced with hands-on lab applications to provide the student with practical security maintenance experience.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1301 or equivalent experience approved by designated Information Technology personnel.
