PORT 1412 (4 Credit Hours)
Offered at BHC, RLC Beginning Portuguese II This is a Texas Common Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD. Prerequisite Required: PORT 1411 or the equivalent or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor. Course Description: This is the first semester of academic transfer Portuguese. This course is an introductory course intended for students with little or no knowledge of the language. Its aim is to present essential vocabulary and grammar, and to develop the pronunciation, listening, reading, and writing skills necessary for basic communication and comprehension. Customs and cultural insights are also presented. This course is cross-listed as PORT 1312, which is used only in Study Abroad programs. Students may register for either PORT 1312 or PORT 1412 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec., 2 Lab.)
