Are you a graduating high school student in need of money and personal support to go to college? We can help. Created by the Dallas County Community College District Foundation, the Rising Star Program provides qualified high school graduates with academic support services, career development and up to $5,500 to be used over a three year period. Through Rising Star, you have the opportunity to earn an associate's degree or job certification in more than 100 career and academic programs offered at the seven Dallas County Community Colleges.
To be eligible, you must:
- Graduate from a Dallas County public high school, Dallas CAN! Academy, a charter high school at a college of DCCCD or an approved charter high school in Dallas County.
- Graduate with a "B" average or in the top 40 percent of your high school class; OR pass the required assessment test to enter any of the seven colleges of DCCCD.
- Exhibit financial need as indicated by the family income eligibility guidelines for Rising Star assistance.
