This pathway is a guide designed to help you to successfully complete the Associate of Science degree. Stages within this pathway indicate a sequence of courses and also take into consideration course prerequisites.
In order to be eligible to receive this AS degree, you must:
- Complete the required 60 credit hours listed in the pathway;
- Earn a grade of "C" or better in English 1301 and the selected college-level mathematics course;
- Receive a GPA (2) of at least 2.00 ("C");
- Meet all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements and course prerequisites and
- Complete at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.
Core Curriculum: A solid foundation of the 42-hour Core Curriculum and its 9 Foundational Component Areas (FCA) are embedded in this pathway. Completing the Core will enable you to meet the challenges of your college career head-on. Core courses in this pathway are covered in four stages and are designed to build upon the knowledge and skills you acquire as you progress from stage to stage. As you work to complete the 60 hours required for the AS degree, you will also meet the 42-hour Core Curriculum and satisfy the 9 FCA's shown below:

Distance Education: This AS degree may be taken through a combination of on-campus and distance education offerings; or if planned correctly, the degree may be completed entirely through distance education.
Transfer: Receiving institutions are not required to accept a grade below "C" in transfer. If you plan to transfer, work closely with an advisor/counselor.
