  • Students pursuing this award program are required to meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards and course prerequisites.
  • Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.

The Associate Degree Nursing Program is a two-year, 60 credit hour program, leading to the Associate in Applied Sciences Degree. The program prepares graduates to be eligible to write the NCLEX-RN Examination to become licensed as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in Texas. The program is accredited by the Texas Board of Nursing (333 Guadalupe, Suite 3-460, Austin, Texas 78701: Telephone number 512-305-7400) and the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (3343 Peachtree Road, NE, Suite 850, Atlanta, GA 30326: Telephone number: 404-975-5000; fax: 404-975-5020).

The program combines classroom and skills laboratory experience with hospital clinical experience.

This will award the student 60 total credit hours for the program.

The program offered at North Lake is under the administration and accreditation of the El Centro College Associate Degree Nursing program. Students will attend classes at North Lake, but receive their degrees from El Centro.

A grade of "C" or better is required for all courses. Support courses must be completed before or during the semester indicated.
