Child Growth and Development
This is an Academic Transfer Credit Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD.
Prerequisite Required: One of the following must be met: (1) DREA 0093 AND DWRI 0093; (2) English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or (3) have met Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading standard. College level ready in Reading.
Corequisite/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search by the certification date as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from the course.
Course Description: A study of the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive factors impacting growth and development of children through adolescence. Course content is aligned with State Board for Educator Certification Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities Standards. (3 Lec.)
