Genetics
This is a Texas Common Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD.
Prerequisite Required: BIOL 1406. One of the following must be met: (1) DREA 0093 AND DWRI 0093; (2) English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 AND 0054; or (3) have met Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading and Writing standards AND the college Writing score prerequisite requirement. BIOL 1406. College level ready in Mathematics, Reading and Writing. BIOL 1406.
Course Description: This course focuses on genetics. Study of the principles of molecular and classical genetics and the function and transmission of hereditary material. May include population genetics and genetic engineering. Plant and animal materials are used to study population genetics, linkage, gene structure and function, and other concepts of heredity. (3 Lec., 3 Lab.)
