Business Computer Applications
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Prerequisite Required: College level ready in Reading.
Course Description: Students will study computer terminology, hardware, and software related to the business environment. The focus of this course is on business productivity software applications and professional behavior in computing, including word processing (as needed), spreadsheets, databases, presentation graphics, and business-oriented utilization of the Internet. This course will fullfill degree requirements established by the colleges of DCCCD only if this course has been successfully completed and the date of completion does not exceed 10 years. This course is cross-listed as BCIS 1405. The student may register for either BCIS 1305 or BCIS 1405 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (2 Lec., 4 Lab.)

Systems Analysis and Design
This is a Texas Common Course Number.
Prerequisite Recommended: Any programming course or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor.
Course Description: Analysis of business information needs and preparation of specifications and requirements for appropriate data system solutions. Topics include information requirements analysis, specification development and writing, prototype evaluation, and network application interfaces. (2 Lec., 3 Lab.)
