EMSP 1355 (3 Credit Hours)

Trauma Management
This is a WECM Course Number.
Prerequisite: (1) Current BCLS (CPR) certification at the Health Care Provider level by the American Heart Association or equivalent, (2) Current certification by the Texas Department of State Health Services as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or higher, (3) Successful completion of EMSP 1356. This course is required for students pursuing the Paramedicine program at Brookhaven College.
Corequisite/Concurrent: Students will be required to submit to and pass a criminal background search and a drug screen as prescribed by the program and college. Failure to comply will result in the student being dropped from all EMSP courses.
Course Description: Knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of patients with traumatic injuries. (2 Lec., 2 Lab.)
