SOCI 2306 (3 Credit Hours)

Human Sexuality
This is a Texas Common Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD.
Prerequisite: One of the following must be met: (1) DREA 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or (2) have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading standard.
Course Description: This course will provide an overview of the broad field of human sexuality. Topics will be covered from various perspectives – biological, sociological, anthropological, etc., but will focus primarily on the psychological perspective. The goal is for each student to learn factual, scientifically-based information that will provoke thought and contribute to his/her own decision-making on sexual issues outside of the classroom. This course is cross-listed as PSYC 2306. The student may register for either SOCI 2306 or PSYC 2306 but may receive credit for only one of the two. (3 Lec.)
