ESOL Reading
Prerequisite Recommended: Student must have successfully completed ESOL 0043 or placed into course through appropriate assessment.
Course Description: The capstone reading course prepares students to transition into college-level courses. Skills and strategies from previous courses are expanded to include evaluating the strength of an argument, identifying bias, and analyzing the strength and relevance of supporting details and assessing the author's credibility. Students paraphrase and summarize academic texts as well as explore figurative language and literary devices. (1 Lec., 3 Lab.)
