  • Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
  • Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by the college awarding the degree.

This certificate provides students with the knowledge and skills required to install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot the client-server database management system of Microsoft SQL Server, and the preparatory training for the Microsoft Certified IT Professional Database Administrator exam.

Prerequisite: Basic understanding of personal computers and operating systems as obtained in ITSC 1401 or BCIS 1405 or COSC 1401 and ITSC 1405, and problem solving and logic structures as obtained in ITSE 1429 or equivalent experience approved by designed Information Technology personnel.
