Contemporary Social Issues
This is a Texas Common Course Number. This is a Core Curriculum course selected by the colleges of DCCCD. Prerequisite: DREA 0093 or English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 or have met the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standard in Reading.
Course Description: This course is a sociological study of social problems which typically include: crime, poverty, minorities, deviance, population, and health care. Specific topics may vary from semester to semester to address contemporary concerns. (3 Lec.)
