Course Description: Overview of the recording studio. Includes basic studio electronics and acoustic principles, waveform properties, microphone concepts and placement techniques, studio set up and signal flow, console theory, signal processing concepts, multi-track principles and operation, and an overview of mixing and editing. Prerequisite: MUSC 1331 or demonstrated competence approved by the instructor.
Course Description: A continuation of MIDI I with emphasis on advanced sequencer operation, and SMPTE-based synchronization in the interaction of multiple recording and playback systems. (2 Lec., 2 Lab.)
