General Health Professions Management
This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite: One of the following must be met: (1) DREA 0093 AND DWRI 0093; (2) English as a Second Language (ESOL) 0044 AND 0054; or (3) have met Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Reading and Writing standards AND the college Writing score prerequisite requirement. Must be Texas Success Initiative (TSI) met in Reading and Writing.
Course Description: Exploration and application of management concepts necessary for effective health profession operations. This course incorporates and integrates principles of management such as health care delivery, strategy, and resource allocation to all forms of healthcare environments. Special emphasis is placed on finance, ethics, culture and diversity, trends, and career exploration. The study of law and ethics are intertwined into all the faucets of healthcare including case studies and enactments of legal cases. This course will cover the exploration and application of management concepts necessary for effective health profession operations. (1 Lec., 2 Lab.)
