Financial Aid is categorized into two types: Gift Aid and Self-Help Aid.
- Gift Aid includes grants and scholarships that do not have to be repaid.
- Self-Help Aid includes student employment and student loans. Student loans must be repaid with few exceptions.
In all cases, students should make themselves completely familiar with the terms and conditions of financial aid they receive. Brief descriptions of the most common programs are listed on the district Paying for College Web pages.
For more detailed information, please visit the Web sites listed in Financial Aid section of this catalog. Since most programs have limited funding, it is important to apply as early as possible each year. A list of priority processing dates is listed in the Financial Aid Application Process sub-section. Funds for applications received after these dates may be limited.
