Course Description: A health-related work-based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. This course is the second of four successive clinical courses. Clinic II is the second in a series of four successive clinical courses that utilize the process of care model of assessment, dental hygiene diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Critical thinking skills, time management and self-assessment are emphasized for the practical application of dental hygiene theory. In this competency-based clinical course students move from the beginning to intermediate skill level by providing comprehensive dental hygiene care for patients with routine needs. (4 Ext.)
