The Medical Coder Certificate is a 32-credit hour award that provides training in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, electronic health records, legal and ethical standards in health care as well coding and insurance procedures.
- Upon award completion, students will have the technical skills needed to enter the healthcare market as an entry-level medical coder/biller in a variety of health care settings.
- The curriculum provides a foundation for students to prepare and complete the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam administered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
