DSAE 2303 (3 Credit Hours)
Offered at ECC Cardiovascular Concepts This is a WECM Course Number. Prerequisite Recommended: Admission to the program. Current American Heart Association, Class C Basic Life Support certification. Corequisite/Concurrent: Concurrent enrollment in DMSO 2243, DSAE 1270 and DSAE 1164 or DSAE 1165. Course Description: Cardiac embryology, fetal circulation and cardiac congenital disease including anomalies of cardiac position, venous return, A-V valves, atria and ventricles. Emphasis placed on defect anatomy and hemodynamic consequences and the surgical repair or other treatment option associated with each anomaly. Echocardiographic imaging in the pre and post-surgical patient will be covered. (3 Lec.) |
